Do You Want To Pursue a Career In Glamour Modeling?

Want To Become a Glamour Model?

Is a Glamour Model a Perfect Woman? When I checked the search engines for the term perfect woman, I was sad to see that all of the advertisements were for breast enhancement.

Though I realize women put a lot of their identity into their breast size, I wish that this was not the case.

Though it is important to feel feminine, if you put too much emphasis on the size your breasts, you aren't putting much into the rest of you.

When it comes down to it, what your body looks like has something to do with your identity, but what is inside is even more important.

Men may initially be attracted to you, but that won't last if they find out you are an empty shell.

There is no such thing as a perfect woman or glamour model anyway. What makes women so wonderful is that they are all uniquely different. We see incredible images of female models all over the place, I've photographed a few myself.

And, many of these women have what might be considered the perfect body which in the world of glamour modeling, the measurements are somewhere around 34-24-34. However, these women are not completely real.

Even the women in the pictures don't look like that. This type of perfect woman is enhanced by a computer program. Perhaps the women in the sexy photograph might not recognize herself once they are done playing with the image.

Most Female Glamour Models I've Done Portfolio Photos for have Flaws

The perfect woman is perfectly flawed. Your breast size is only as important as you make it. Even though breast size is never something I had to worry about, I can't imagine that it would ever be something that would dominate my daily thoughts.

I can understand having a small breast size might be something a woman worries about, and I have no problem with a woman wanting to feel more feminine and going up a size or two.

However you should know that making them larger will not always make you a more beautiful glamour model. If you can work on the inside and the outside at the same time, you may find that you become the ideal person for you. And that is what is most important.

If you are on the quest to become a perfect woman, stop and think why. I know that I am not perfect, and I know that I am very far from the ideal. However, I know that my husband and those who love me would not have me any other way.

In the end it is not your bra size, or the number on a bathroom scale that will make people remember you. If you want to be a perfect woman, you are just setting yourself up for a huge disappointment.

Requirements for Female Glamour Models

With all that said, there are some attributes women need in order to consider this type of a model career. Now, don't get discouraged if you don't have them all and remember there are many other types of jobs in the industry such as commercial, promotional, runway, etc.

Your height is not as important in this genre but you need measurements close to 34 bust, 22 to 24 waist and 34 hips.

This is not set in stone but a good goal to shoot for before putting together your glamour model portfolio.

What Pictures do You Need?

Speaking of, what are the portfolio requirements and what do you need in your photo package?

I would suggest somewhere between 8-12 of your very best photos. If a picture is marginal, throw it out. These should include:

- 1 or 2 Headshots
- 1 or 2 3/4 Shots
- 1 or 2 Full Length Shots
- 1 Headshot Without Makeup (or very little)
- 1 Swimwear or Bikini Photo for Glamour (tight fitting clothing for other types of modeling)

Be sure and include these poses when you set up with portfolio photographers. This way you are pretty much covered for any photos during your interview or open call.

Composite Cards

Comp cards, as they are called, are one of the best items to have in your possession when you go to a model agency interview. These are generally 6" X 9" two-sided cards with a headshot on the front and 3-5 photos on the back. This will also have your "stats" such as...

- Name
- Contact Info
- Height
- Weight
- Bust Size
- Waist Size
- Hip Size
- Dress Size
- Shoe Size

These are normally printed in quantities of 100 and are very inexpensive (@ $70 - $100 per 100 cards) so they are excellent to give out to the modeling agency, photographers, or other potential clients for your work.

Now, I know there is more to learn about becoming a glamour model than I've covered here but this will get you started. Read back over this, set your goals, practice posing and expressions in the mirror and work with some professional photographers to gain experience. You 'll be on your way to a possible modeling career!

A final thought --The photographers who remember you the most fondly will remember you for your smile, your attitude during your female glamour photo shoot, and your ability to produce great pictures.

Take it from somebody who knows, become a glamour model with what you have now, use your attributes and keep that outstanding personality, you should get work in female modeling jobs.
